Welcome to Reno
Welcome to Reno Tahoe, where the country’s largest alpine lake meets the Biggest Little City in the World. There's no other place in the world that can claim the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the action and adventure of the “Biggest Little City in the World,” the rich history of the Comstock Lode, or the state’s oldest recorded settlement — all within 60 minutes of each other.
Reno is home to top attractions like the National Automobile Museum, Nevada Museum of Art, the largest outdoor climbing wall, and a ½-mile, snowmelt-driven kayak park right in the heart of downtown. Lake Tahoe, as the largest alpine lake in North America and the second deepest in the United States, is the “Jewel of the Sierra Nevada”. Lake Tahoe is a summertime paradise, a winter wonderland, and a year-round haven for magical mountain memories. Visit the Discover Lake Tahoe and Reno, Travel Nevada, and the Lake Tahoe Visitor Bureaus for more details on things to do and places to visit.

The Gondola at Heavenly
Hop aboard an 8-passenger glass cabin and be whisked 2.4 miles up the side of a mountain for breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. Riders can hop off at an observation deck, located halfway up, for even more spectacular sights.

Emerald Bay State Park
It is surrounded by forested hillsides of glacier-carved granite and dotted with a tiny islet at its center. The Vikingsholm Castle overlooks the glimmering waters of Emerald Bay and is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

Sand Harbor State Park
This park offers miles of sandy beaches, as well as hidden coves and shady pine forests. Visitors can take scenic walks along the Sand Point Nature Trail, a short hike with outstanding views of the lake, and the Sand Harbor to Memorial Point Trail.

D.L. Bliss State Park
This park features attractive picnic spots, pleasant lakeside areas, and lovely sandy beaches. The Lester Beach and Calawee Cove have a secluded feel because they are tucked away in densely wooded groves and accessed by a steep two-mile hike.

Lake Tahoe Boat Tours
There are plenty of company and tour types to select – from daylong excursions to sunset wine affairs. Many companies also offer tours lasting two to four hours during the day, such as Tahoe Cruises, Lake Tahoe Boat Rides and Lake Tahoe Cruises, which operates out of Zephyr Cove Resort.

Nevada State Museum
This museum focuses on the rich natural and cultural heritage of the “Silver State”. Visit to learn about local wildlife, see the bones of pre-historic creatures found in the area and the Ichthyosaur Shonisaurus popularis, Nevada's state fossil.

Nevada State Railroad Museum
The Nevada State Railroad Museum, located in Carson City, Nevada, preserves the railroad heritage of Nevada, including locomotives and cars of the famous Virginia and Truckee Railroad.

National Automobile Museum
As one of the top Reno attractions, this Museum has more than 225 rare, one-of-a-kind, antique and collector cars with authentic street scenes and sounds that bring displays to life. With artifacts, a theatre presentation, audio tours, and a Museum Store – there’s lots to see and do.

Nevada Museum of Art
The Museum facility is located at the heart of Reno’s downtown Liberty district. The four-level, 70,000-square-foot building serves as a visual metaphor for the institution’s scholarly focus on art and environment.
